Events leading
towards a Lottery Submission
- Initial meeting of the
Client group to confirm and/or define the vision of the project.
- Regular meetings, usually
on a fortnightly basis, to progress the data required from which action
minutes are issued.
- In consultation with the
Client body to formulate and finalise a sports development and/or
business plan including financial appraisal.
- Directing and obtaining
of all letters of support from potential users of the project including
letters of endorsement from sponsors.
- Arrangement for selection
of designers to prepare schematic drawings including initial meetings
with the planning authority towards submission of a planning application
concurrent with the submission of the Lottery application.
- Liaising with the Client
bodies' solicitor to confirm the status of project site in accordance
with lottery guidelines.
- Progressing applications
and development for gap funding requirements through national governing
sports bodies, Local Authority, Regional Charities and business sponsors.
- Preparing analysed costs
and brief outline specification for the proposed project for inclusion
within the Lottery submission.
- Arranging for a report
on the proposed site in terms of incoming services, site investigation,
including level survey and any other environmental issues.
- Arranging meetings with
the Local Authority, Sports Council and national governing sports
bodies towards the obtaining of formal support required under Lottery
guidelines.
- Drafting Lottery application
form, finalising support documentation, arranging printing and submission.
- Assisting Client bodies
to deal with any queries from the Lottery Assessors.
- Following a granting of
an award by the Lottery progress, the procurement phase of the project
as Client's Independent Building Project Manager
